Everyday is "Carmageddon" in LA!

A dear ol' SoCal pal, now a DC-area Econ professor, is one of the funniest people I know. His FB status updates are a daily source of mirth for the Fortuitous Housewife, and I LOVE to giggle, laugh, chortle, guffaw..

The folks back in our former hometown have managed to survive last weekend's "Carmageddon" (and apparently have another to look forward in months to come), and I just had to share this thread from Saturday between a couple of transplanted Californians.

The Professor -- "To my Southern California friends - keep in mind that this kind of citywide paralysis happens on a regular basis when it snows in Washington, DC.
The Fortuitous Housewife -- "Carmageddon -- Ain't nothin' new 'bout this! Remember when it would rain, getting home from work was a BITCH! We SoCal folk invented traffic! These pansy journalists are probably writing their reports on their iPads while riding the subways of NYC!"
The Professor -- "Bad traffic has always been one of the defining characteristics of Southern California. I remember one time it took me two hours to get from my living room to my fridge. After that, I only made that trip during the off-peak hours."
Another day, another giggle, courtesy of the Professor.
One of these days I'm gonna have to audit one of his classes!
